More Strokes solo projects on the way

Despite their mercurial rise and bleh demise, The Strokes are making quite a go of it individually. Julian Casablancas has teamed up with Pharrell and Santogold for Converse, while Albert Hammond Jr. just released his second solo album. Now drummer Fabrizio Moretti and bassist Nikolai Fraiture are joining them by branching out with new projects.

Moretti's new side project, Little Joy, is trio with Rodrigo Amarante and Bikini Shapiro, his girlfriend. Their "Antonio Carlos Jobim meets Vince Guaraldi meets wall-of-sound girl groups" album debuts this fall on Rough Trade.

Fraiture's project, Nickel Eye, features Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's and Regina Spektor as guests. Listeners of Mark Ronson's East Village Radio show were offered a preview way back on June 6th.

Wow, Julian with Pharrell...really? Looking foward to seeing how that turns out.

Nikolai's project sounds interesting. Equally looking foward to that, and the rest.

Love those Strokes.
