More Details About Liars' Sisterworld Emerge

Those opaque videos posted earlier this week may not have given away much about Liars' forthcoming Sisterworld album, but a few more details have now emerged. The record, which is due for release sometime early in 2010, was written and recorded in Los Angeles by the band and Tom Biller, who has previously worked with Kanye West and Beck.

According to the press release, "Sisterworld is Liars’ own space, completely devoid of influence, somewhere remote from the false promises and discarded dreams amassed in LA. In it Liars explore the underground support systems created to deal with loss of self to society.”

Sisterworld is the first album the band has recorded in North America since the wonky-but-brilliant They Were Wrong, So We Drowned in 2004. “We're interested in the alternate spaces people create in order to maintain identity in a city like LA,” say the band. “Environments where outcasts and loners celebrate a skewered relationship to society.”
