Monolith, the Morrison, Col. festival that began in 2006, posted an announcement to their website this morning asking for financial assistance. The announcement says that, if unable to find sponsors and/or buyers among Monolith's fans, then the festival will no longer be able to be held. The news is a blow for indie music, as Monolith was a terrific cap to the summer festival season.
The post on Monolith's site says that the poor economy and the festival's proceedings interrupted by rain contributed to the difficult financial situation. They have even been unable to settle some of their debts from this year's festival. Click through to the Monolith Festival's website if you or anyone you know would be able to help. [Monolith]
