For being some artsy motherfuckers, Mogwai can be some real bitches too. What's with them and random comments slagging other bands? I've never understood their absolute hatred of Damon Albarn. Sure, Albarn is much more poppy than they are, but he's not, say, Robbie Williams.
The Scottish noise rock kings latest target: Rat:Att:Agg (their spelling), which features ex-Test Icicle Rory Aggwelt. Where's the beef going down? Where all the kids have it out these days: MySpace. Seems Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite posted on R:A:A's site that he thought the band sounded as juvenile as a Bob the Builder cartoon. Aggwelt then sniped back that Mogwai have simply been making the same song over and over for the past decade. Which, when you stop and think about it, isn't exactly off the mark. Then again, when you were in a band with a name as stupid as Test Icicles, which isn't even funny in like a twice-removed kind of way (see also: Goblin Cock), you should just keep your mouth shut.
In the end, shouldn't it be Ratatat who has issues with Rat:Att:Agg? Because those names are quite similar.
