The "Pitchfork Classic" series is pretty self-explanatory, and the album explored this time around is Modest Mouse's 1997 album The Lonesome Crowded West. Through interviews with frontman Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, producer Phil Ek, Calvin Johnson and more, we learn what went into making the album--three songs were re-recorded (!)--as well as individual tracks like "Cowboy Dan." There's also plenty of footage from old Modest Mouse gigs, which is pretty awesome to watch. You can check out the whole thing over at Pitchfork.tv.
