Modest Mouse To Reissue First Two Albums

Indie rock favorites Modest Mouse are planning to reissue their first two full-length albums, 1996’s This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About and 1997’s The Lonesome Crowded West, along with 7-inch singles featuring songs from the recording sessions. The first album is out October 28 while The Lonesome Crowded West comes November 4; both reissues are available for pre-order now through Glacial Pace’s webstore. The accompanying singles feature “White Lies, Yellow Teeth”/”Buttons to Push the Buttons” and “Too Many Fiestas For Rueben”/”Cowboy Dan” and will release alongside their respective reissues (they are also available for pre-order).

Modest Mouse have not released a full-length album since 2007’s commercially successful We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, and have release no new material in general since the 2009 EP No One’s First and You’re Next. The band has remained active through sporadic touring and they insist that they have been writing and recording for a new release, but no details have yet emerged.
