Moby Reveals ‘Destroyed’ Details

The self-proclaimed “little idiot” is set to have quite the full plate in the first half of 2011 as Moby has now announced the details of his upcoming tenth studio album, Destroyed, which the man himself states is filled with “broken down melodic electronic music for empty cities at 2 a.m.”

To tease fans, Moby is offering a free download of a three-song EP that’s tied around the new single, “Be The One” (video above). Mixed by Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros, M83), the 15-track Destroyed will be released in the usual CD, vinyl and digital formats via Mute on May 17.

In conjuction with the album, Moby will flaunt his photography skills via a Destroyed photography book, which will be packaged as a 128-page hardback edition featuring 55 images he shot during his world travels. Days before the book and album’s release, New York City will give Moby the artist’s treatment as the “Destroyed: Photographs by Moby” exhibit will open at the Clic Gallery and will run from May 12 to June 26.
