Since we're all adults here and it's kinda not a secret anyway, I'll just go ahead and say what most of us know: There are a lot of people who hate Moby. A few of those who loathe the electro-superstar: Star Wars geeks, Natalie Portman fans, Eminem and people still getting over having to hear Play everywhere they went for, like, three years. And that's just a sampler. Among the people most acutely aware of this fact? Moby himself. In a recent interview with ABC News, the topic inevitably turned to Moby's numerous haters.

"There are a lot of people I've never met who just hate my guts," he admitted. "These are people I've never met and they want to have me drawn and quartered and tarred and feathered. I'm like, I never even met you people. All I've done is make some records and start a tea shop."

When ABC suggested that maybe people were reacting to Moby's outspokeness at various stages -- as a fundamentalist Christian, a vocal vegan, an environmentalist and a blogger -- the DJ gave a pretty simple answer:

"Somehow, I've managed to annoy a lot of people. And there's nothing inherently wrong with annoying people, but I think I annoyed people in such a way that they were...unwilling to listen to what I was saying that was actually annoying."

Okay, sure -- Moby's been super annoying at several points and for several reasons but we still like him for that stunt he pulled where he set up an auto response telling people that sent him hate mail that they'd been signed up for his fan club. At least he has a sense of humor. And a knack for clever revenge. Credit where it's due, okay? [ABC News]
