Mobb Deep Ink Deal With Sony's RED Distribution

Back in April, we reported that Mobb Deep was looking to release a new project independently. But since then, we haven't heard too much about the planned self-titled EP. Until today, of course, as Prodigy and Havoc have announced that they have signed a deal with Sony's RED Distribution. This is a huge step forward for the duo's Infamous Records, which will put out what MTV is reporting is a self-titled full-length album. Additionally, RED will release any other effort the Mafioso rappers have lined up, including any film projects.

Mobb Deep issued the following statement in a press release:

"After almost 20 years in this industry, it was inevitable for us to take matters into our own hands. We feel that RED is the perfect home for our brand," Prodigy said. "We know who our fans are and what they want from Mobb Deep. We're excited to take a new step in our career," Havoc added.

This is, of course, great news for the duo and their fans. Here's hoping we hear some new music soon.
