Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and wife Ann recently spoke to Parade magazine about some of their favorite musicians and who they'd like to see perform at the White House should Mittens take the election. On top of country acts Garth Brooks, Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, Romney also included Aerosmith, Alabama and the Beach Boys--though he hiply noted that the latter would "not the same group it used to be."
Ann Romney, while pointing to various genres like jazz, pop and classical, made sure to note that the Romney family has an ally in the Eagles' Don Felder, who is scheduled to play the Republican National Convention next week.
While he recognized that not every act would want to play for a Republican White House ("Some may turn us down"), Romney did have one semi-surprising pick with the Killers. "The Killers," whose frontman Brandon Flowers is Mormon like the former Massachusetts governor, "are one group I enjoy." [RS]
