Mister Heavenly Releasing 'Out Of Love' In August

When we previously heard from the indie rock super-trio of Mister Heavenly -- Islands' Nick Thorburn, Man Man's Ryan Kattner, and Modest Mouse's Joe Plummer -- they had released two new jams in January. But since then, the news has been slow-coming from the band, which makes sense considering all three have been busy with their full-time and other side-gigs. Thorburn, for example, is collaborating with producer/rapper El-P on a project called Stepson.

But it appears that the guys of Mister Heavenly found time to hunker down and put together a full-length album. Sub-Pop announced last night that the trio's Out of Love, is due out in August. According to a release, the band "only had three ground rules [while recording]: a) Keep it short; b) Keep it simple; and c) Keep it rooted in some semblance—harmonic, lyrical—of classic doo-wop." Additionally, they described their music as "post-apocalyptic Valley Girl meets the American Graffiti soundtrack."
