The folks over at Matador have announced that they will be releasing the new album from seminal Boston art-punks Mission of Burma on October 6. The album, titled The Sound, The Speed, The Light, is the band's fourth overall and third since their unexpected reunion in 2002. According to the announcement, it will consist of four sets of three songs, each one of which will cover "a set of moods or colors." I don't know what that means either, but I'm sure these boys know what they're on about. As a teaser for the album, two non-LP tracks, “Innermost” and “Here It Comes,” will be released on 7-inch on August 18. To listen to an MP3 from the album (the confusingly titled "1, 2, 3, Partyy!") head on over to the Matablog.
