It's been nearly a decade since Eminem made his film debut in 8 Mile, which provided a sanitized and hopeful version of the rapper's early years in Detroit. After reestablishing himself as a musician with Relapse and Recovery, Eminem is now turning his focus back to film. In Southpaw, he will take the role of a "fast rising welterweight boxer who rises to the title, only to see his world crash around him due to tragedy." Hopefully Em has chosen wisely, but in addition to being a little long in the tooth to play a boxer, this movie sounded really good the first time I heard about it, when it was called The Fighter. I love this idea Eminem was great in 8mile and I love the idea of a new movie with Eminem in some ways he is was an underdog backed against the the ropes but he will keep fighting go Em
