Though as late as November, Miley Cyrus was claiming that she'd never heard a Jay-Z song, apparently the 17-year-old pop star loves Hair Metal.
Cyrus decided to record a cover of Poison's 1988 hit "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Bret Michaels producing. When he played country ballad "Nothin' to Lose" for Cyrus and her mom during a break, the singer took a liking to it.
"Miley's like, 'This is an incredible song. It's beautiful. Maybe I could [add] some stuff to it, some harmonies'," Michaels said. "I said, 'That'd be killer!'"
"Nothin' to Lose" contains lyrics like, “We both know better than this/Still we can’t resist/Slowly get undressed/Won't you fall down on me/ So close I can feel you breathe.”
Michaels defended himself further, "It's not even a duet. As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about. I'm a good dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song."
Michaels' album Custom Built is set for release in May. [The Daily Swarm]
