Miley Cyrus Covers John Lennon's Imagine
Say what you want about Miley Cyrus , but you have to give her credit for her ability to consistently find new and inventive ways to annoy. The latest example comes in the form of news that Cyrus -- aided and abetted by Hannah Montana co-star Emily Osment -- recently recorded a cover of John Lennon 's Imagine . In an interview with Moviefone , Cyrus explained the schism between her own music and the music she, apparently, really loves:
"I don't think the music you produce has to be the the music you listen to. I like singing pop music, and I like dancing. And you can't really dance a lot to rock and roll. I like Nirvana . I really like Radiohead . I really love The Beatles ."
Cyrus also sought to quell the fears of those who might doubt her ability to cut to the heart of Lennon's material (and what's arguably his most famous song):
" I'm just a huge John Lennon fan. I studied him in school, and just watched the movie Chapter 27."
See? She just watched that film starring the lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars . Totally reassuring.
Cyrus's version of Imagine isn't currently slated to appear on an album and has no release date. [ Angry Ape ]

i think she's going to have a Vanilla Ice type meltdown and completely disown her teen pop career in a few years. Then she'll try to make a serious album and get pissed that no one wants to listen to it.

Is Imagine the song you would record if you were really a Lennon fan? Also, I feel cheated,,, damn Canadian education system neglected the Beatles' history...

Ok, I like her and all but come on no one can sing a John Lennon song and to just think she can is BS. Whoever gave her the rights to cover his song really needs to rethink that.
