Miles Davis' Hall And Oates Commentary Again Proves No One Was Cooler

When you think of the musicians associated with Miles Davis, Hall and Oates don't exactly spring to mind. Oates did recently offer this story, which occurred in 1990 in a Tokyo airport, where both acts had played a concert commemorating John Lennon's death. After the show, Oates, perhaps in a philosophical mood, shaved his trademark mustache. Davis, upon noticing the newly shorn sidekick, sidled up to Oates and offered these words: "Now the lovin's gonna be better." Davis then gave props to Hall, saying he used to tell his hairdresser that he "wanted hair like Darryl's." Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Miles Davis. [The Daily Swarm]
