Fest mania: get Mile High

As with many U.S. cities recently (see also Chicago, Austin), Denver doesn't seem to be content to have just one big music festival. The greater Denver metro area is already home to Monolith, which goes down at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Now the organizers of that fest have announced plans for another big bash. Details on it after the jump...
The new fest will go by the name the Mile High Music and Arts Festival. (Organizers better book some serious stoner acts with a moniker like that!) The inaugural edition of the fest is scheduled for July 19-20 in Denver' City Park, although the plans still have to pass muster with the City Council and other neighborhood groups. Folks with the fest say they want it to feature acts with wider appeal than those who play the more indie-leaning Monolith. Some names already being bandied about include the White Stripes, Wilco, and Bob Dylan.
