Mike Skinner is threatening to incur the wrath of his record label this week be releasing some new songs by The Streets via his Twitter feed. One tweet from Skinner yesterday (April 13) neatly sums up the era we currently live in: “I am going to Tweet three new songs this week. I can't be bothered with all this trying to sell you music. It wastes valuable time."

Skinner goes on to say: “I think I regret saying I'd post 3 new songs” before signing off with a tweet that promises we won’t hear from him again until he has a song available to download. "Day 1 will be easy,” he says. “I've got one nearly done. Day 2 easy. Day 3 is looking tricky. Might have to post a totally rubbish one."
