Via: Chart AttackChart Attack published an interesting interview with Midlake frontman Tim Smith recently, that touched upon, among other things, the band's influences, and just how far they've come with the breakthrough of their second album, The Trials Of van Occupanther. One strange revelation, was Smith's seemingly illogical dislike of the Internet:
"I hate reading that stuff [blogs, etc.]. Just tell me how the album is selling. I don't like the negativity. You get a little bigger and then you get more enemies. You're no longer these guys who are just trying to push and do it and be a band. And everyone respects you when you're just starting out, even if you suck."
Last I checked, the Internet liked Midlake just fine still, but what do I know? You can read the entire piece by clicking on the link above.

Then again, perhaps Tim Smith has just realised that the Internet is not a big truck, it's a series of tubes. This would obviously make anyone unhappy.
