Midlake Announce New Album, Tour Dates

It's been awhile since we heard new music from Midlake. Breakthrough record The Trials of Van Occupanther, an ode to pre-industrial America that alternated between hushed theatrical indie-pop and laid-back Fleetwood Mac-inspired MOR, came out three years ago. That's a decade in blog years. The wait for new music is finally over. Midlake has just announced the release of their third record. The Courage of Others will be released Feb. 2 through Bella Union. Guitarist Eric Pulido promises less character sketches and more introspection this time around. "I don’t feel I’m looking at the songs through someone else’s eyes," he says of the new songs. "I’ve tried to keep it as true to myself as I could." The album release will be preceded by a short jaunt through the southern states and a few dates in the U.K. Welcome back, guys.
