It’s no secret that the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises are helping the music business from complete collapse. But what is surprising is that Microsoft is saying that through their Xbox Live store, they are selling 3.8 million videogame tracks a month, at at least $2 a pop. Furthermore, Microsoft is also saying that they make up 80 percent of the total videogame track sales market, so that means that there are roughly 4.75 million tracks sold a month for the videogames.
The 3.8 million figure a month is even more staggering when you consider that only six million copies of the games have been sold to date on Xbox. [Coolfer]
