Connecticut college rockers Miracle Legion were important figures on the college rock circuit in the 1980s. Their records may not have shifted in vast quantities, but singer Mark Mulcahy is cited as an influence on a number of prominent artists, many of whom have gathered to pay tribute to the band on a new album.

Mulcahy’s wife suddenly passed away last year, and all proceeds from the album will go to support him and his young family. Thom Yorke and Michael Stipe have both contributed covers of Mulchay’s work for the record, which is titled Ciao My Shining Star and is due for release in September.
