Despite a few well-publicized protests, the Michael Jackson movie This Is It premiered across the world last night (Oct. 27). The film debuted in 19 major cities and attracted a number of stars—in Los Angeles, Jackson’s brothers showed up alongside Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez.

The singer’s choreographer, Kenny Ortega, directed the movie from over 100 hours of exclusive footage that was shot in the build-up to Jackson’s vaunted comeback in London. Jermaine Jackson moved to quash some of the rumors circulating yesterday when he said his brother was “very, very healthy” at the time of the rehearsals

This Is It is now on general release for two weeks, although it will likely be extended beyond that if fan demand lives up to the expectations of the film industry.
