Michael Jackson's Doctors Escape Criminal Charges

It’s been over a year since the sad passing of Michael Jackson, but still the investigation into his death rumbles on. The singer’s personal physician, Conrad Murray, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges, and his case is still under investigation, Meanwhile, seven doctors who treated Jackson have been told they won’t face criminal charges.

Los Angeles police had apparently asked California state investigators to examine the ways in which the doctors has prescribed drugs to Jackson, but no wrongdoing was uncovered. Despite this verdict, one of the doctors has been referred to the California state medical board for prescribing drugs under an alias.

Lawyer Brian Oxman, who has been working with Jackson’s father on the case, said he was “very disappointed” with the outcome. "The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality," he said. The civil case against Murray should now prove to be very interesting.
