Michael Jackson's Doctor Named a Suspect in Jackson's Death

Los Angeles Police have named Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal physician, a suspect in their manslaughter investigation. The Los Angeles Times reported the name after viewing court records requesting the search of Dr. Murray's clinic and storage unit in Houston. The search warrants said that investigators were looking for "items constituting evidence of the offense of manslaughter that tend to show that Dr. Conrad Murray committed the said offense."

Investigators seized vials of weight-loss medication and muscle relaxers, billing records, shipping receipts, medication orders, and two computer hard drives in their raids, among other items. No mention was made of the powerful anesthetic Propofol, vials of which were reportedly removed from Jackson's home.

Dr. Murray had been hired by Jackson at the monthly salary of $150,000 and was the person who discovered the singer not breathing at his home on June 25. As MTV News reports, the charge of manslaughter does require that there was any intent to kill. If Dr. Murray administered drugs in a negligent or reckless, he could be guilty of manslaughter regardless of his intentions.
