Would anyone in their right mind turn down the chance to go to a cocktail party hosted by Michael Bolton? Fortunately, the intrepid Rob Harvilla at the Village Voice did just the opposite of that, ostensibly as part of a press trip to drum up interest in Bolton’s forthcoming One World One Love, but really as just a chance to have a snoop around his house.
According to Harvilla’s engrossing report, Bolton has a studio that adjoins his house, which includes all the rock star memorabilia you’d expect to find…including a wall where an award for sales of Kanye West’s The College Dropout is adjoined by a similar presentation for a Kenny G album Bolton worked on.
Bolton was sampled on West's “Never Let Me Down," hence the award, although Bolton isn’t striving for ageing hipster credentials, even if he did manage to corral Lady Gaga into writing a song on his latest album. In fact, he admits that he had to ask his daughters who Jay-Z was, and all the journos get kicked out in the end because one of his handlers says Bolton needs to get some sleep. Aww.

Picture win.
