Recently retired hip-hop it girl MIA has denied that she has any links to the Tamil Tigers, a militant group currently at war with the Sri Lankan government. MIA issued the denial after accusations made by fellow Sri Lankan rapper DeLon. Though her father is a political activist and the founder of a group with purported ties to the revolutionary group, MIA offered this rebuttal:
I don't support terrorism and never have. As a Sri Lankan that fled war and bombings, my music is the voice of the civilian refugee. Frankly, I am not trying to start dialogue with someone who is really just seeking self-promotion."
MIA’s “Paper Planes” is currently unavoidable in commercials for Pineapple Express, but she has been mostly silent since declaring her retirement at Bonnaroo earlier this year. [NME]

That's what happens when you wake up one morning and realize that you are one of the most overrated, talentless "artists" on the face of the planet. |

She retired? Damn, I think that's a new record for hip-hop.
