I was just driving past Manzanita Street in Los Angeles the other day, and it got me wondering when L.A.-based chanteuse Mia Doi Todd might be getting another album out. (Manzanita was the name of Todd's last proper full-length back in 2005, in case you thought I was making an absolutely baseless connection.) Well now I know, and after I share the information with you, you'll know too. Todd is slated to release her new album, GEA, in February via City Zen. It will be her seventh full-length. Todd got help crafting the album from multi-instrumentalist and composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and bassist Joshua Abrams, who has worked with Prefuse 73 and Sam Prekop. Todd has some of the new material up at her MySpace, where you can also get the details on her two New York City live performances this month.
