M.I.A. Denies Ickitt-gate, Endorses Bullying For Oddly Named Celeb Children

Though naming your baby after an Ewok is probably okay if you're a rapper from Sri Lanka, M.I.A. posted on her MySpace blog that she did not, in fact, saddle the newest member of her family with the name Ickitt. After various gossip sites broke the news, she left the following message:

My baby is not called Ickitt, Pickit, or Lickit. Thank you very much to all the Hollywood press. He's a baby, he don't need press. I didn't release the baby name because I didn't think it was news. But I will be back with something newsworthy soon. Till then, go pick on Apple, Satchel, and Moon Unit.

Though it's nice to see that M.I.A. isn't going along with the culture of celebrity parenting, she really shouldn't advocate giving a rough time to oddly monikered celebrity scions. Life will do enough of that without any help. Ask Rumer Willis. [OMG]

Dude, the ewok from Star Wars is named Wickett, not Ickitt. I am such a geek.

I figured that with enough Ewoks on the planet to take down countless Imperial Walkers, there would have been at least one named Ickitt. And Wicket's full name was Wicket W. Warrick.

'Endorses bullying'? I think you need to get a crash course in English humour, Mike. Or at least look up 'irony' in the dictionary.

Haha! I've never liked MIA, but after this statement, I may have another listen.
