Metallica supports Record Store Day with signing event

Metallica will be observing this Record Store Day on April 19 with an exclusive signing at Rasputin Music Store in Mountain View, California. Approximately four hundred wristbands will be issued for the event, which the band hopes will encourage consumers to drop a little cash at the store:

"Come on down to the store, say 'Hi,' bring some stuff for us to sign, and in the spirit of supporting your local independent record store maybe you'll want to do a little shopping while you're there."

In case you want to make the trip to scenic Mountain View, be aware that customers are permitted to start lining up at eight in the morning for the store's opening at ten.

Record Store Day was founded by a collection of independent record stores nationwide in hopes that the publicity will draw attention to the plight these retailers are facing from the proliferation of chain stores and online retailers.
