Metallica Spends Three Minutes Talking About Death Magnetic Cover Without Saying Vagina Once

The cover for Metallica’s Death Magnetic has a more than a passing resemblance to female genetalia, especially if that female is say Elvira, Lily Munster, or Morticia Adams. Metallica is obviously in on the symbolism, but didn’t think much about how to address it publicly. This is indicated in the above clip, when three members of the band fumble through three full minutes while avoiding, almost as if playing a parlor game, the word “vagina.” Though hearing bassist Robert Trujillo referring to a woman’s “sex” is pretty priceless, even more curious is that guitarist Kirk Hammett doesn’t weigh in on the issue at all. Maybe he was taking some time to examine the cover in private. [The Daily Swarm]
