Metallica Reunites with Jason Newsted, Adds Tour Dates

The frosty relations between Metallica and their former bass player Jason Newsted are set to be patched up when he reunites with the band on April 4th. Newsted will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the rest of the remaining original lineup of the band, and he will also perform with them at the ceremony.

Newsted infamously surfaced in the Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster , calling their decision to use a band therapist “really fucking lame.” The members of Metallica are looking to avoid the awkwardness that beset Blondie when they were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006. Former members Frank Infante and Nigel Harrison publicly asked the band if they could rejoin them to perform at the ceremony, only to be rebuffed by Debbie Harry.
