Don’t underestimate the power of Metallica singer James Hetfield. The frontman is currently involved in an FBI investigation into the death of a student who disappeared after a show by the metal legends, and Hetfield has issued a video appealing for information about the case in the hunt to find the murderer.
Twenty-year-old Morgan Harrington disappeared after a show by the band in Charlottesville in Oct. 2009, and her remains were found three months later in a location that was just 10 miles from the venue. Police are offering a reward of $100,000 in the case, to which Metallica have added a further $50,000.
The short video from Hetfield, which is streaming on YouTube and the FBI’s website, can be seen below. [via NME]
