Admittedly, we've had a couple British Invasions hit U.S. soil in the past. But how many of them were actually sponsored by the British government? Zero, that's how many. Until now - with its new Meridian UK program(me), the British brass aim to showcase musical talent from across the pond by paying for them to play in America. Southern California gets the first wave, a month's worth of low-cost concerts by the dramatic, Steve Aoki-approved indie rock band Scanners (pictured) and melodic femme punkers The Hedrons. Come see one of the following shows and support international togetherness. Because as we all know, this week is International Togetherness Week. Somewhere.
