People have been keeping lists of their favorite misspelled band names almost since the day the Beatles decided to substitute an "a" for an "e" in their moniker.
But what about misspelled album titles? This makes for a trickier compilation because there's so many of 'em, and because not all of 'em were deliberate. That's what the folks over at the Mental Floss blog found out when they put together a list called "10 Horribly Misspelled Album Titles (and why we like 'em!)."
Here, the Flossers divulge that Jessica Simpson's "Rejoyce" album was titled that way to pay tribute to her late grandmom Joyce, not her (presumably) poor spelling habits. Meanwhile, the Zombies "Odessey and Oracle" was misspelled because the cover artist didn't consult a dictionary. Other listees include Ice Cube, Dolly Parton and James Brown.
Anyone got any others? The first two that popped into my mind were Eazy E's "Eazy-Duz-It," Genesis' "Nursery Cryme," and Stax guitarist Steve Cropper's "Playin' My Thang."
