Early last year, when co-founder Brent Knopf left Menomena, it never felt like the end of the band was near. They finished their 2011 tour, and there wasn't an announcement about a break-up. In fact, quite the opposite. The remaining members, Justin Harris and Danny Seim, started work on a new album almost immediately. That album, we learn today, will be called Moms, and is out September 18 via Barsuk. The album is based around the duo's relationships with their mothers, with Harris and Seim splitting songwriting duties evenly. With Knopf gone, they've filled the empty aural space with more instruments, including flute, cello, and even tap-dancing. Check out the trailer for the album below, followed by the track list and dates for Menomena's fall tour.
