August 21 is the slated release date for two CDs' worth of interest-piquing material from the Mendoza Line. The first of the two will be the mini-album 30 Year Low. On it, band members Tim Bracy and Shannon McArdle document the end of their musical and romantic relationship. The couple is splitting and McArdle is leaving the band, while Bracy will soldier on under The Mendoza Line moniker. The second album, entitled The Final Remarks of the Legendary Malcontent, is a collection of covers and rarities. It finds the band putting in renditions of Dylan's "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry," Arab Strap's "Packs of Three," Springsteen's "Tougher than the Rest," Richard Thompson's "Withered and Died," and Cole Porter's "Anything Goes."
