In a video that was posted today by VLADTV, Memphis Bleek spoke about how he was responsible for one of the biggest hip-hop feuds of all time, between his good friend Jay Z and fellow New York rapper, Nas.
In the interview, which can be seen below, Bleek explains how the whole thing started through a "he say, she say" situation. Bleek was told that Nas dissed him on a DJ Clue mixtape, which led him to respond with "Mind Right." From there, Nas released a freestyle that mentioned not only Bleek but also Jay Z, Beanie Sigel and other Roc-A-Fella artists. That "basically opened the floodgate" and led Jay to step in and released "Takeover."
But what exactly did Nas say to get this whole thing started? "He didn't say shit. Somebody lied."
Watch the interview, as well as Bleek's "Mind Right," Jay's "Takeover" and Nas' "Ether."
