Memory Tapes Makes First Live Appearances

Dayve Hawk, the mysterious man who makes hazy music as Mystery Tapes, will finally come out of the shadows when he plays his first live shows early next year. Hawk -- who you might also know as the cloaked figure behind Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes -- is set to play just two dates in England in January 2010. Those who make it out to Hawk's live performances may get a chance to hear "Graphics," a new single due out on January 11. Although the song appeared on Seek Magic, Memory Tapes' debut album, it's being pared down from its six-minute original length to a new three-and-a-half-minute single.

Memory Tapes' short list of appearances is below:

01.16 Manchester, England: The Corner
01.20 London, England: Luminaire *

* with Pantha Du Prince, Fitness Club Fiasco [Pitchfork]
