Because it's apparently the age of weird-as-hell collaborations, the living members of The Doors recorded with dance producer Skrillex for a new documentary. According to Rolling Stone, the film is called RE:GENERATION and it teams up five DJs/producers with five artists from across the genre spectrum. And together, they have crafted entirely new material exclusive to the documentary.
Aside from the bizarre pairing of Skrillex and the Doors, there are some other what-the-hell moments such as Pretty Lights recording with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley. But then you have likely awesome stuff such as Nas and DJ Premier working on a classical song with the Berklee School of Music Orchestra. Oh, and apparently Erykah Badu linked with Mark Ronson, members of the Dap Kings, and Trombone Shorty to record a jazz number.
So much good but also so much...bad. Damn it. Watch the trailer for the documentary below. It's apparently due out in 2012.
