Melvins Releasing ‘Melvins Lite’ Album Called ‘Freak Puke’

Apparently the Melvins’ Dale Crover and Buzz Osbourne spent plenty of time last year touring with bassist Trevor Dunn, who you might know as the co-founder of Mr. Bungle with Mike Patton. Well, in this case, Dunn served as the low-end complement to the guitar-and-drums attack of Osbourne and Crover. And together, they called themselves Melvins Lite. No, scratch that, because that’s what they’re still calling themselves. Apparently this newly established trio has an album dropping June 5 called Freak Puke — best/worst title ever? — via Ipecac. Expect some Melvins Lite tour dates to spring up soon. [CoS]
