Norwegian black metal act Mayhem, perhaps the most infamous band in extreme music history, has cancelled its upcoming "Deconsecrate the States" US tour. Drummer Hellhammer broke his arm rather badly while gigging with his other bandDimmu Borgir, and will need to rest and undergo surgery, forcing MAyhem to scrap the eight dates they had planned on U.S. soil, as well as their spot this weekend at the massive Hellfest metal festival in France. We wish Hellhammer a speedy recovery, while at the same time breathing a sigh of relief that he broke his arm instead of committing suicide or murdering one of his bandmates, like two other former MAyhem members did. Affected dates appear after the jump.
