Current Velvet Revolver and Ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum recently made it known that he is against Axl Rose using the band's name when the majority of the band's longest tenured line-up is playing in Velvet Revolver. While it's understandable that Sorum would be jealous of nearly any band name short of The Osmonds, he should realize that his calls to retire the name will ring hollow to a lot of people- Traci Guns, Steven Adler, Gilby Clarke, and Izzy Stradlin for instance. Though it may seem unfair to think that what was once Guns N' Roses is now Axl, Dizzy Reed, Bumblefoot, and a rotating cast of mercenaries, fans aren't going to confuse the "classic" lineup with the new one. Sorum should realize that if someone's going to go as far as a kilt and cornrows, he gets to keep the name. [Aversion]
