Massive Attack reveal their Meltdown

 

The band is following in the lofty footsteps of former Meltdown curators such as John Peel, Nick Cave, and Jarvis Cocker. But this incarnation of the festival must  rank as one of the broadest so far. There can’t be many events that find space rockers Gong rubbing shoulders with post-punk figureheads Gang of Four.

Among the highlights are appearances from the inimitable Grace Jones, legendary Japanese electropoppers Yellow Magic Orchestra, and reggae great and longtime Massive Attack collaborator Horace Andy. And just to show how broad 3D and Daddy G’s record collections are, they’ve even scheduled an unlikely appearance from Belfast punks Stiff Little Fingers.
