Mars Volta’s Ouija board inspires the band’s new online game (seriously)

The Mars Volta have taken one more step toward Dungeons & Dragons territory. They”’ve created an online game based on their forthcoming album, The Bedlam In Goliath. Beginning the first week of January, you can go to the Amazon music page to play ””Goliath The Soothsayer.”” The game is available up until the album release on January 29.

“Goliath The Soothsayer” is based on the true story that inspired the narrative of The Bedlam In Goliath. Yes, another Mars concept album, in which each song is a chapter of the story. The album chronicles the band”’s time with ””Soothsayer,”” which is Cedric Bixler-Zavala”’s Ouija board (I couldn”’t make this up), as it mutated during their Amputechture tour ””into a malevolent psycho-spiritual force that nearly tore the group apart, collectively and individually.”” Um, okay. Go here for a trailer of the game.
