Producer Mark Ronson will bring his independent label, Allido, into a joint venture with music giant Interscope. His first release with Interscope will be the first album from D.C. rapper Wale, due out this year. Under the deal, Ronson is not an exclusive artist or producer for Interscope and will enjoy a certain measure of freedom. He says the key factor in his decision was Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine, whose career he admires. Ronson won three Grammys last year, including Producer of the Year, Record of the Year, and Pop Vocal Album of the Year for his work with Amy Winehouse.
