James Lavelle’s UNKLE project has built up an impressive history of collaborative efforts with notable musicians, and that’s set to continue with the band’s forthcoming album, Where Did the Night Fall. Few details about the record have emerged, but Lavelle has announced that former Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan will contribute.
"For me, it is a personal dream come true," Lavelle said in an interview on BBC 6Music. "He [Lanegan] was meant to be on War Stories and for various reasons at the time it didn't work out. He's one of my favorite singers ever and to work with him was just amazing."
He also claimed that the album is “a bit more electronic” than recent UNKLE excursions, which will delight Lavelle fans who have been hankering for a return to the sound from the DJ Shadow/Mo’ Wax era of the band. Further details about Where Did the Night Fall are available on the official UNKLE blog.
