Mark Lanegan And Ben Gibbard Set To Join John Cale To Perform Paris 1919

John Cale will offer a special performance of his acclaimed 1973 album Paris 1919 this Thursday at UCLA's Royce Hall. In addition to the UCLA orchestra, Cale will be joined on stage by Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age vocalist Mark Lanegan. Hopefully some video of the show will hit the net; in addition to seeing three great vocalists play off each other, it will be interesting to gauge if an orchestra can do justice to Little Feat, Cale's backing band on the original album. This sounds amazing. I really hope Cale brings this to New York at some point.
