In an interview with SPIN magazine last year, master of subtlety Brian Hugh Warner (aka Marilyn Manson) said of ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood that he had "fantasies every day about smashing her skull in with a sledgehammer." Since then, Wood has apparently responded to the quote in the way any woman naturally would: By reconciling with her would be skull-smasher. At least, that's the story according to Manson, who recently spoke with Metal Hammer about recaptured love and his whole free-to-be-you-and-me attitude:
"I think I'm not afraid to be me. Sometimes you feel awkward being what you're best at, you feel like you have to be something new. But I think that a lot of people will agree that me being me at my best [is what] I need to be. I think that that really paid off because I'm back with Evan."

Anyway, Manson then went on to say that now that he's been "released" from his Interscope contract, listeners can expect his new music to be "more badass" and -- sigh --"self abusive." Though there's no mention of it in the article, one guesses he then showed visible physical discomfort while restraining himself from shouting the word "boo!"
