As if the Michael Jackson memorial wasn't already going to be the largest entertainment-related event in recent history, TMZ reports that one big name performance might make it even bigger. According to the gossip site, Mariah Carey will sing at the event, which is being held at the Staples Center sports arena in downtown Los Angeles. Carey reportedly will perform "I'll Be There,"originally recorded by the Jackson 5.

About 17,500 will be allowed in the Staples Center to mourn Jackson, who died on June 25. However, organizers and Los Angeles police are preparing for a much larger turnout of fans without tickets.
